Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is an attacking player. She also serves as captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division for women's professional soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she co-captained the American women's national soccer team with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9The 9 Morgan was chosen as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan was 22 years old at the time and was the youngest player on the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She was the second player in the United States with 21 assists and 20 goals in 2012, which makes her the youngest and sixth most prolific player in the United States to achieve 20 goals in one year. The following year, she was named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
